Im watchin dis pete rock video on his 2000xl an hes taken a sample from love is a battle field. Now i listened to the original an i can't hear n e points were the melody is soloed or such so my question is how did he take the bass from that sample if he did or did he jus re play it an numba howd he manage to get rid of the drums. I don't know if it's somtin ive missed so n e fin wid somtin constructive get back at me.

The actual song has an intro and a breakdown where those parts play. Pete broke them down in 1/4 notes or smaller as you see from the video. The bassline he uses is not from the song but what he added to the mix.

There is actually a cat that rebuilt the track using FL Studio and tried to pass it off as an original piece over at Soundclick. It was a bad rebuild at that.

sounds like the same bass to me. i think he just chop it up and use some low end theory. thats what hes known for right?

I must be listening to a edited version coz the version of love is a battlefield dat im listening to hasn't got a break down drums start it of den the melody comes in.

I just herd it an he sorta layered his drums over the orginal version but dat bass does sound like he took it from da original version
