circuit bent instruments...

do any of yall got any and if so how can u record into the mp with them?

using the mpc's inputs.

i don't have any though, but the 2nd part is common sense.

I have a bent sk-1 which already had a 1/8" out but a 1/4" was added.
If your talking about pieces like the little jammer guitars and stuff you must add an out either yourself, or by any of the talanted benders you will find by simply running a google search.

Bent sk 1's by Waterhed are amazing, even though he is kind of a bag of douche.

I bent a Speak & Read, which I sample into the 1k. I still have a Speak & Spell and a Speak & Math that I havent bent yet. I'm considering buying the MIDISpeak retrofit to add to the next one I bend. http://www.highlyliquid.com/kits/midispeak/

Last week, I bent my Roland TR-626 and it's slaved to my MPC, so I don't need to sample it. I use the Highly Liquid Glitchdesk Bend Console for more flexibility, since I can also use it when I buy and bend a Casio SK-1.

These Bend Consoles aren't cheap (especially the new one), but it's still cheaper than building my own with the same quality materials (unless I buy in bulk, which would be overkill).

I always add a 1/4 inch jack to mine, and then either straight into Protools, or thru a mixer.
Some have an 1/8 inch jack already on them, so you could use that too.

ive messed with my sk1 once (unfinished project).. its fun (sort of )
youll need pots, cables, solder equipment and a little patience
. youll need a wooden box to build the pots and switches and buttons. you can build them in the plastic cover from the synth/keyboard but i prefer to do this outside in a seperate box. youll need longer cables of course.
just play with connection on the mainboard, if you find an interesting connection, mark it or write it down on a piece of paper. Try to find a synth/ keyboard which runs one batteries so you wont get electric shocks! Youre gonna need "banana things" (dont know the translation ), to find the connection.

Soldering and de-soldedering cables wont do the unit any harm (casio sk-1 in my case)

Basicly you solder a cable on one point on the mainboard, connect the other side of the cable to a pot, button, switch, fader, whatever. then connect another cable from that same pot to another point on the mainboard. Or place more switches, pots between the two points....
I dont know anything about adding more outputs and/or midi but I guess it comes down to the same. you just have to know which goes where

if i did though, i would use it and i dont make techno. You can use any sounds for hip hop or rap

i bent a speak and spell, speak and read and an sk-1... was good fun, but for some reason my sk and speak and read dont work now... have to open em up and have a look at whats kicking..got some good lo-fi samples off the speak n spell the other night tho, real glitchy stuff...
