running zip drive on top of one of my monitors

I'm REALLY running out of space on my desk, and it would be super convenient to have my external zip drive on top of my right monitor.. its not up there now, but since the speaker is obviously magnetic would that be a bad idea?

just because i know they have magnets in them, i dont put anything near them that could demagnatize. wether its disks or anything. i just dont trust it and i wont put one near it to find out. i wouldnt do it, man. it could be all good, but i wouldnt do it.
