simple question i hope!

I'm pretty new to this so this may come off as a question a bo-tard should ask, buuuut....

I was using MPC Editor v3 to setup PGMs for the 2500 and when I imported the horns they're real quiet. i can fix it manually by going into the mixer (shift +pad 8) and manually turning the volume up. or i could laboriously do it in the MPC editor sample by sample. does anyone know a faster way? why don't they just import at 100% volume by default.

i'm frustrated. help?

As far as I know MPC Editor wasn't made for the 2500. Try Bluebox

Well, are the samples quiet to begin with? You said you imported horns. Were they louder before? If the samples are quiet, use the normalizer.

Be very specific and people will probably answer you more quick.

you should have let him stew in his own stupidity for a while before you helped him, look at his remark when nobody could understand the way he worded his question. I hope your mpc shocks your hands and cripples the one you use to beat with

If you look at the editor for more than a minute you will notice the velocity is a default of 70% . Change it to 100% and save it as a template file to start with. DUH...

my venom got the replies i wanted, thanks for your criticisms of my already admitted ignorance, slick! next time i'll be more specific.

The sounds are originally pretty loud. When I import them I have to go into the mixer and change the volume of each individual pad from 40 to 100 and then they are a equal with other samples at least.

as for the advice, thank you very much for the tip on the mpc 1000 editor.

for the guy who suggested the velocity change, i'm not sure what velocity has to do with it? and what's a template on the mpc 2500, i'm intrigued.

Velocity is usually set to control level.

Velocity is a metropolitan area where all the inhabitants ride bicycles.

And when he say template he just means set all the settings in MPC Editor to how you like em, i.e. change velocity from 70-100, then simply save that as a Program or whatever. Then each time you start a new Program just load that file (from your PC - My docs, whatever - perhaps you could even set it to autoload your template) So you dont have to change the settings each time. You see?
