on the sides - "hammered metal" silver spraypaint.

on the faceplate - i buffed off the blue paint and lightly sprayed it with black, then partially sanded it off. finally i clearcoated it with varnish. it was a fun little project.

you must know the machine inside out to be able to navigate without any text!

ant, thats real hot, i did a distressed look on my 2k once, but i never clearcoated. it was temporary

ive done the green/purple color change,

a natural distressed look with the bare metal and some black paint smudged in

silver

now im going all black, buttons and pads included

i also have an extra case, that i keep original. i got that on now

thanks dstruction, i was expecting more hostility from forum goers based on previous experience with those who paint their mpcs heh...

matt - yeah, i at first worried about painting over the text, but eventually i realized that doing that would indeed make me faster than ever on it. the only thing that i messed up on sometimes initially is typing out the letters, but within a couple of days i was like lightning.

i mean shoot, the mpc has fewer buttons than a keyboard and you don't need to look at that...

I like the sides but from that pic i dont think the faceplate looks very good, looks a bit scruffy/tatty. You got more pics face down?

Man thats one UGLY looking 1000. Looks like a Do it yourself with a can of spraypaint. Would be a hard resale if you decide to sell it.
