i got a mpc 2000. i saved my beat and loaded the floopy on the pc but it just came up with a wird piano duplicant of my beat how can i load my beats up so they play what there supposed to.

What type of file did you save them as on the floppy? Most likely your hearing a piano version is because you loaded the midi data of your beat but not the actual performance. How does your mpc 2000 hook up to your computer?

i was just converting a seq to song then saving that seq as midi. i dont actuly know how to connect my mpc to computer becuase i dont have the 8 outs board i just got record in head phones and stereo out.

You cant do what u are thinkin for loadin up beats. U have to record them from da MPC to your recording software on your computer.

Take the STEREO OUTS to the LINE IN on your sound card. Now record the beat.

you cannt just save a beat from the 2k onto a floppy then expect it to load up on the computer. it dosnt work like that.

you have to record the beat into your computer.

What comp programs do you guys use to record? I have Reason, but this board already established that it is not possible. I heard cubase or protools works. Is it true? And is there an inexpensive program that is good for recording?
