break the 1000 down 2 me

im thinking about getting the 1000 cause the other one are 2 expencive!! but i heard that u cant edit and speed up samples!! how/wat would i need to get to work away from my computer wit the 1000 and still be able to edit and load drum from a cd??? i was told there was an up date for the 1000 so u can now edit and basically turn it into a 2000!! help me i need to start my journey on making that crack!!! wat about the sp-606

sounds like to me, your on the right track. Hands down the MPC series are the way to go, because of it's sequenceing power ! and now that you can edit samples just as fast via usb transport from PC to MPC or MPC to PC, makes the 1k a monster of a machine,and that's for real. I had the 2000XL
and yeah I miss it, but don't regret giving it to a friend who also sold it to get a 1k ,and he's loving it. To me it's the greatess investment I've made in a while on the mpc's. Keep in mind that it's not the machine that makes the music,it's the person behind the machine that makes the heads nod to the beat. Just wait until more info comes your way before you decide, MPC
is industry standard in every studio. You want find to many sp606's,but you'll see a 3000,2000,or a 4000 in a studio where ever you go.

Listen to DJ-T and DO YOUR RESEARCH! I just got my 1st Mpc a few days ago and I was blown away, but I'm getting it now. I've waiting to get one for a year and with the new os....the 1k is a steal. (atleast for me, right now).

awh man i really dont like that sp 606.. its more kinda like a effect sampler with a little sequencer in it.

just get the mpc, you'll be able to transfer your drums from your computer directly to the mpc(with the CF card or with the usb connection).

everything you are asking if the 1k can do, it can with the exception of loading directly from CD being that the 1k does not have a cd. that's the 2500. however, you can put a hard drive in the 1k. i have a 100gb hard drive in mine.

take a look at the videos of what the 1k can do. look in my signature at the video link or look at the video sticky at the top of the 1k section.

so to edit samples and to store beat wit out useing a computer i need the os program/update ,and a hard drive????? where do i get these at??? is there certain ones how much??

dude, any mpc1000 you buy will do all of what you want, even with no hard disk. so don't worry.

and the os upgrade is free.
