transfer speed to HD?

hi folks, just wondering what the transfer speed was like from PC to the 2500 harddrive (once installed), is it possible to back things up relitively quickly?

yep, its usb 1.1 so probably about 100 megabytes/sec. its v. quick for me

I'd like to see some video evidence of your files transferring at 100mb/s, USB 1.1 is slow as fvck!!!

3.5 GB of data in approx 20 minutes is results of the test..I believe.

Who tells you that?

USB1.1 is specified at 12 MBit/s, that's 1.5 MB/s. So in the wild probably around 1 MB/s.

Even the fastest USB hosts can't go faster than 60 MB/s.

its shame that it isnt usb 2.0

Besides for occasional backing up of files...I never use the USB function. What are you guys doing that you need this function to be faster?

So To tell you about the transfer rate of this f***** cable around 775-950 ko/s for me for you maybe 350-700 depending on

-how many other devices you have plugged in USB on your computer?
Let me explain all the device share the transfer rate of the USB 1 or 2 so imagine the standard transfer rate for usb 1 is 1000ko/s (don t ask me the real one i don t know it!!) if you have a mouse a printer etc they all take a piece opf the 1000ko/s .

-If you copy with standard Windows copy/paste try to use Supercopier, this little program makes the copying lot more faster no more crash when you copy more than 2gb you can go to more then on Tbite and you some options to configure how it copies and you can also see the transfer rate!!

The bandwidth of a mouse is next to nothing compared to that of copying data over USB. Other devices such as printer, scanner or card reader only take bandwidth if they are used at the very same time.

And little programs won't make the USB bus faster either
