soldering gun for putting on new pads

what would you guys suggest? i'm gonna be soldering the wires to the new pad i ordered from vst.

I would not use a soldering gun, they tend to be rather clumsy. Use a pen style soldering iron, much more convenient and easy to handle. My advice is getting a mid priced soldering station with decent effect, get one whith a replacable tip in a rather small size.
A good soldering tool is necessary when you fiddle with electronics or make your own cables, so don´t hesitate to put a little cash into the investment.

mine was a bit more expensive but had led to show the temperature it is at. a usefull addition if you plan to do more soldering imho.

so akai didnt glue the pad sensor correctly and thats why pads die?

i used to own a mpc1000 blue and red box and i never had any problems with the pads i rarly use the pads i just bang out my drums and use keys for everything else

yeah that's the problem - a bad glue job. i'm trying to get vst to mod them in my technique by themselves.

thats pretty crazy tamperong with the mp like that
