monitor speakers

I have an extremely small studio (my dorm room).. and i was wondering what monitor speakers for around 300 bucks i should purchase to get the best sound for mixdowns. help a fellow mpc 1000 user out.

post this in studio environments, not 1000 forums, to get results.

ps i'm in a dorm room too. make yourself a loft bed. this saves a LOT of space.
