Yes, and you can use the external SCSI to go back and forth from card reader to zip with no problems also.

Wow. I was getting ready to spend $150.00 on a cardreader from VST. Akai pointed me in their direction when I contacted them about my zip disks problems. How was installation? I'm asking because I'm sure they didn't include instructions on how to install it into an MPC. Did you have to go and find other items that weren't included with the cardreader in order to install it. I mean like did you have to go out and find a certain wire or something else that you needed? I'll order this thing right now if there are no installation headaches.

Holla back quick yo.

Nah, I didn't have to buy anything extra to make it work. The only modification I had to make, was to the power cable, and that was REAL easy. I know for a fact that you can buy the modified power cable for cheap off of the Internet. Take a look at www.mpc2000xl.com for more details on the cable. Gimme a holla if you have more questions.

followed P3tr's advice and I have that same CF reader in my 2kxl now, it
works just fine. v1.14 in mpc, 512mb Cf card.

512? Is that all that it will read? I own a 1gig CF Card(Used it with MPC 1000).

Nope you can use 1g cards as well. with os 1.14 you have to partition your cf card in 2 partitions of 512Mb with os v1.20 you can use a 1G card without partitioning.

Guess I need to upgrade to 1.20. I bought mine with 1.14 already on it.
