mpd would be a good addition but you couldn't use the 16 levels, plus dragging it around in addition to your 1k would decrease the portability factor...i'd love an mpd - instant access to 32 pads.

I thought the MPD 16 had 16 levels...

yes but only through midi, and the mpc1k's 16 levels feature doesn't respond to external control, only the pads on the mpc themselves.

if you buy tha mpd16 where will you hook it up to use it and will it be tha same thing as using the 1000 like the numbers and stuff cuz i would like to get one of those . also wut cables will i need to hook it up? i also dont care bout portability , but another question are the pads on the mpd16 designed good and how good are they like are they the same as the mpc 2000 , 4000 , or 2500?

hook it up with midi cables

i have no idea bout the design. i assume it's good from what i've heard/read. the size is about the same as the 2000's.

@ seatown: yeah the mpd pads are built the same as the 200/XL/3000/2500, so they should last.

i've actually gotten some bad comments, but mostly good on this paint job. some people think it looks "scraggly." i explain that that's the point, i honestly WANT my sampler to look like sh!t...but a good kind of sh!t, like the way rappers say it. hahha.

anyway, let me just say again that stripping off the lettering was a good idea, because now already i'm twice as fast on this thing. i was fast already but now, since my brain has been forced to train its memory more, i'm really REALLY fast. my roommate says it's like listening to a factory when i'm on this thing.
