What is the zone feature useful for under edit?

under edit on 2000xl, what is the importance of the zone feature when sampling? what can one do with samples using this feature and what benefit do one get from it?

The zone function allows you to chop up loops in up to 16 parts. Have you read the section on this in the manual?

the zone edit is very useful when one wishes to edit sounds into zones .

Do people forget the manual sucks , sucks ..sucks..I agree play with it and you can maybe get an idea but it would be nice to know what it is im looking for if i was to..I 've never even used that function becasue i never had th eneed to or maybe i did but just didnt know...get my point?

thatsa kinda everyones point tho. you gotta play around with it, read the manual, push open window on everything possible. i found screens i didnt even know existed 2 years after i bought the thing. experimentation is key. you dont know you need it if you dont know its there.

i agree totally it just seems that if that was the case i wouldnt endulged in a forum which purpose is to give a more advanced headsup as oppose to pushing buttons..Im not lazy and i dont mind doing the work but some insight from more advance users on what this or that does will halp go further thats all.... If every one answer is to read the manual and find out on your own , then they shouldnt be here absorbing knowledge as well...Guess it depends on who's answering..Anyway i enjoy this forum and dont want to ruffle any feathers so i'll take whats given..later

zones are Akai's off-hand response to functions seen in early versions of ReCycle.

Zones make for useful cutting and a quick and blundering use of Zones can actually make for some interesting edits.
