I have a Trigger Finger....should i get an MPC?

Hello to all, Here i am with my first post for this forum...
I have got a little home studio, and i use Trigger finger with ableton live 5.
A little while ago, i have tried MPC 1000 for the first time to a friend's house and i noticed a couple of things:
That the raw sound of drums was punchier and that quantization really helped my drums timing.
I mean when i use quantization with live and trigger finger it doesn't sound "right"
i also noticed that MPC pads are reacting better to velocity and are more comfortable.
Now, i would like to know from someone that used BOTH things (TF and MPC) if i should invest some money and buy an MPC.
I am askin this because i realized that staying in front of a pc monitor kills my creativity (i just stay 8 hours a day in front of a pc monitor for work)
I always try to make beats in real time with my TF, but i have always to quantize stuff...(not because my timing is really bad, but i think because of the soft bad timing) with the MPC i just did my drums with ease...
And coming from a total software experience, will be a pain to switch to hardware and deal with menus and little screens?

first of all, TF and any mpc are totally different machines. you don't have to worry about a learning curve with the mpc. learning ableton is harder than learning the 1000. an mpc is way different than TF due to the major fact that you don't have to rely on a computer to use it. alone, TF is useless (as you already know) you could also trigger Live with the mpc in the same manner you use TF to trigger Live. so with the mpc, you would not have a need for TF. i don't know how much you have read on this site but you can now add an internal hard drive in the mpc1000. i have 100gigs in mine. it's pretty self sufficient.

i would like to know if an MPC makes really a difference in quantize/sequencing drums or is it just more about different interfaces and personal tastes.
I just havent got here the ability to test mpc for a good time...so it would be nice if someone can share their toughts on the differences of sequence drums with TF and soft or with MPC...i felt that MPC drum were way better...but i had the MPC 1000 on my hands only for 15 min...thanks

u do realize on the MPC1000 pretty much all drums go through an EQ for extra bass? adds punch... try that with ableton.

there is no reason why an mpc1000 should sound punchier than a soft sampler...if you said mpc60 or mpc3000 i'd agree:-D

my friend has both the mpc25 and the trigger finger, and boy does he not use his TF much anymore lol, just bits n pieces, if your a pc man, the mpc is a lot easier to learn than software like ableton, i find with software if u dont know what something does you can end up not using it or experimenting, but with mpc, u just get so creative u wanna learn everything.
