How do
you make beats live?
I'm creating lots of sequences with pre loaded loops on each of the tracks, then I just mute the tracks in and out. When I get bored with one sequence I move on to the next.
The thing is though that you have to have one of the Tracks on all of the sequences otherwise you'll move on to the next sequence and there will be deathly silence.
I also have all my samples going through the Reverb and the Bit Cruncher/grunger FX and hard knee type comp. So as to keep the samples as unrecognisable as possible.
I also have my DrumStation / A station hooked up to the MIDI outs so that I can bash a choon out at the same time. The DS gives the sampled beats a much fuller sound. Warmer too. (Analog modeling)
