No problem fellas, theres another post regarding this and we all SHOULD email them about this error because this is major and not the reason we purchased the HD'S in the first place. :x

I'm still a bit confused by what exactly causes this. Can anybody provide step by step instructions to reproduce this?

All I know is the machine freezes up at some point when creating a new folder. I'm not sure what steps before this cause it, but once that happens you must back up everything and reformat drive before you can ever create a new folder. So not only do you lose the current work, but depending on how much stuff you have on your HD you may lose an hour trying to back up and reformat. Pain in the A**.

One thing I have been doing to avoid losing any creations is create a new folder before I start on the track.

Needless to say, this needs to be fixed up.

So this may actually be from resaving the files? like if you keep adding things to your sequence or song or program and you resave it, it goes corrupt? Thats what the workaround suggest in a roundabout way.
Wow this should stay at the top of all post in my opinion. People will lose their shyt and flip! You know everybody dont back up on a regular basis, shyt, I loss some of my stuff because of this.

This must be fixed soon. :x It just shouldnt be.

Had you recently loaded new data (samples/programs/whatnot)?
I experienced that same issue with my Seagate (100GB) after loading a bunch of samples.

Yes!!

I had been transferring loads of files and programs at the time.

Most of my corrupt files were in ROOT.

And I have emailed support about it.

both of the new akai machines with their new os's have issues with this, and i get corrupt files too. file not found messages and all that. this is why i back up my songs in like 5 or 6 different places.

i think that these updates for both our machines will come quickly, because it's a fairly serious issue that they're not gonna want giving their new products a bad name...

ZAM do you get "wrong file" even after formatting the CF card?

Check your PM

reformating both drives now...I just made some programs in bluebox copied them from my computer to the harddrive and opened them but the playback on the pads was white noise agian , restarted and they worked fine....This is weird I can't make PGM s in the MPC but can make them in Bluebox?

Might not have anything to do with it, but is your MPC grounded?

By xparis001 Thu Mar 30, 2006 9:11 pm
did you format the drive after installing 1.1? I hear this clears this up in most cases.

By ZAM13 Fri Mar 31, 2006 3:45 am
This will be my second time formating I've only had the Harddrive for a week but it was happening with the Cf card first thats why I installed the Hard drive. Loading all my files back to the drive now . I'm going to try making some new PGM s when it's done, See what happens . IF not I'm gonna try loading like 1 sample with a clean Root and see what happens . I think I might test the piss out of this thing tonight .
