What if you want to take your MPC with you somewhere though? You cant always take a computer along. I dont have the CD m-25 yet but I don't know if I could do without the HD. They are reasonably priced, go for it!

I think it depends on how and what you use your mpc for. I use it to completely make all my tunes. I would never buy a cd burner because I can do that from my computer. However I like to have all my samples and sequences and programs at hand. these would never fit on a 2 gigabyte flash card and for the same price (about 50 pounds or 80 dollars) I got a 40 gigabyte (Toshiba MK4026 gax) hard drive. It is one of the ones recommended by akai and is easy to put in and works **** nicely :-)

Just remember you cannot attach an external harddrive to the MPC's USB port. You will always need a PC as the host. And in that light the internal HD is definitely worth the money.

i just got back from VST Service in CA and copped the HD and CD drive. I'm gonna test it out in a few....peace!
