is recycle that needed when u have soundforge 7.0

i just got a copy of sound forge 7.0 was wondering if recycle is all that needed now that i have this

also can someone post a link to get someone brand new started with sound forge[what its capable of, good things to start with, tips, ect....]

i seen everybody ranting and raving bout it so it seemed like a must have(especially since im rocking a classic 2000)

Recycle is a beat slicer/editor, where as Soundforge is an overall audio editor.

Sony= Soundforge

No need for Recycle at all.. In Sound Forge it's called REGIONS..

I spose it kinda boils down to what you want to do and what will serve you best.

Lamp, do you use Soundforge to slice up your breaks then?

recycle lets you save your cut samples as akp files and the timing as a midi sequence. you can load those akp files right into your mpc editor. so in practice, the recycle/ mpc editor lets you do this opperation of cutting with minimal fuss. plus recycle contains a group of effects that work well with drum loops...

but no, you technically dont need it, and its use is going to be, in the end, a matter of personal taste...

as for myself, i love it, because i dont like to spend that much time on the computer (it drains my creativity). recycle is so simple to use, even a complete idiot would have the hang of it in five minutes. not so with sound forge... finally, price is a consideration, as i dont believe in using
"hacks" (not that i think there is anything morally wrong with it, i just dont like to) and soundforge is expensive...

any where to find some starter tips to using sound forge
i used the search with the word and, and it gives posts where ever the word soundforge was used so if any body can post a link or share some advice(maybe just some effects, chopping and slicing, timestrect) that would be cool

i wouldnt think you really needed it...unless you have reason and are making dr. rex loops which i use it for.
