my buddy has an mpc2000xl and he has sounds saved that he can acsess quickly.im confused about loading. lets say i load 16 samples, are they all going to disapear once i turn the unit off.basically i just want too load a small handfull of samples so i can use just those to make a beat. make like 4 different patterns. i can save teh beat by loading it too my cool edit program. what must i do!!!
sorry to sound stupid but i dont know what im doing and the booklet is a pain in the arse.

any help is appreciated.

thanks

You need to assign the sounds you want to use to the drum pads, and this is called a program. Name the program and save it to disk (floppy, zip, or hard drive, whatever he has connected to his mpc). Load your program and sounds from the disk whenever you are ready to use them, and make your sequence (patterns). Record them into your cool edit with the outputs of the Mpc going into the inputs of your mixer or computer soundcard. Be safe. One
