i need a little help

i just recently purchased an MPC-4000. When making a song, how do you play sequences on top of each other. Im trying to build this song so that the drums hit for two bars and then the bass comes in over the bars, then the hi hats etc.. but when i play the song it does everything seperately. it will play the drums, then play the bass, then the hats, etc. the manual is not really helping me out. thanks

read tha manual while focusing on what it is you want to do?

You must make the arrangements in the sequence mode (by makin' seperate sequences with the full loop,the beat or whatever you want) and then take all of your sequences and line them up in the song mode.Another option,is to make a main sequence,which will include every track and then,you can mute/unmute tracks in the track mute mode.Hope it helps,peace.
