Why Did You Choose The 2500?

Pretty self explanatory but, why did you choose it?

I'm getting one soon and I chose it over the 4000 because I want to use it in conjunction with my PC, so the 4000 was overkill.

the combination of loadsa stuff , size wise its nice , not 2 bulky , tho big enough 2 give it presance lol , the whole usb interphase was a big part 2 tho , easy as 2 take stuff from ur computer , the expansion factor of adding hard drive , cd drive and ram to it which can all be done by urself in mere minutes (can say that from experience) , aswell as the added featues that surpass the 100 , also the color , i mean u cant say thats not attractive lol ,

Chop shop and phrase patch ...and recording live instruments while a seq. is playing. faster production over 2000xl. Usb intergration extra midi outs.

noone has mentioned but i likes the aspect, its landscape not portrait to you when working on it, and its a nice size, i like that its fairly thin, so the bag option is nice, i need to be able to move it around loads, and its nice to have a bag to keep it all nice. i also like the fact its black, looks nice and tidy.

Originally I was looking at the MV8000 to replace all my gear but I was talked into the 2500 by a MPC4000 user and don't have any regrets...

Because it was a major upgrade from the MPC 2000XL and 3000....

Which drumbox is in "portrait" anyway?

My choice was a bit of an accident really. For years I wanted an XL and once I had the $ to make the purchase, I stumbled upon the 2500. It wasn't available at that time so I did some more research. I was also looking into the MV-8000 but I already had gear that did the majority of what the 8000 could do. Thanks to Jahrome and a few others here on this forum, I settled on the 2500. Possibly the best gear purchase I have ever made. This thing does what I wanted from an XL and so much more. Too many features to list!

I got a mpc1000 but im about to sell it, and reasons for changin are:
full size better feeling pads,
tilting screen,
extra outputs (its real nice to mix your drums individually on a desk)
grid edit,
phrase match,
build quality,
& a nicer layout.

only thing i miss a lil, is being able to pick up the one 1k got to the sofa chill & bang out beats.

To me the 2500 is a toy. had it for 2 weeks, gave the damn thing back. Very thin (almost snapped it), horrible timing, and cheap Numark finsh.

I am happy that you are happy with the MPC you choose (or an MV). But your problems were most likely due to user error or lack of....proficiency.

I personally enjoy the MPC 2500 with the rest of my expensive toys...and about to buy some more now that I am done testing.....Anyone have an XL or 2000 that they are trying to get rid of?
