I keep getting this error when I try to resave a program with a new sample in it. It corupts the program and I can't even delete it off of the card not even through the usb. What the hell is going on. I keep losing work because of this and I'm ready to go back to my 2000xl. Any suggestions . I'm saving everything to a CF card could this be the problem ?

im having the same problem. first i thought it was the hard drive - the approved toshiba 40 gb.
the error usually comes up after im able to load a program a few times. then all the sudden the shit wont load and the wrong file error appears.
strangely, you can see the individual wav files that make up the programs. if you load them individually, you can recreate the program but thats ridiculous.
some of the sounds that seemed most succeptible to this were coming off cd roms containing wav files that i had used just fine with the 2000xl. and im going back to that ho until this gets fixed. ive lost hours of work.

No cd rom samples used only stuff from wax. I think it acts like a defragmentor to the card . Is there any way to defragment a installed harddrive?

there is another thread about this too. I've had it happen...it sucks. Then worse yet when this starts to happen and you go to create a new folder in your root....your F*D....Crash landing. Frozen screen. Mad Frustration. You lose all your unsaved data.

i don think you would need to defragment anything unless you have loads of files. could the wav files you use be corrupted? do they play on the mpc when they are not in a program?

All wavs are 44hz 16bit and are fine its SEQ. and PGM errors.... After reformating the drive it seems to be running a lot faster no hang ups on screens , like before.

At last!! I'm so glad that everyone else is getting this error.

Sorry to hear you peoples have lost work, so have I.

I thought it was just me for ages, and [email protected] didn't get back to me so I thought I would just have to stuggle along.

I reformatted after installing the new OS and thought that everything was going along fine until I dropped a few more files on it via the USB cable. Then I started to get these errors again. So I've been through this twice now. Glad I'm not pro.

I'm starting to wonder if its a disk space limit type thing. So you get to a certain level on the disk and then it starts glitching. My disk is about 9.2GB full on a 80GB disk. Could be a percentage I suppose, so I'm 11.25% full.

Anyone else round this limit?

I've been saving everything to the CF card and just reformated agian and installed a 40 gig harddrive today to see if that works better. After reformating I only lost 1 PGM it didnt save the chopped sample after saving all programs and samples . This is weird becuase I try to load a pgm and it says wrong file , then reformat the card load the same file made from a backup of the card to my computer. Now it loads I don't get.

Today I get an wrong File Error on one of the factory preset PGM ...It won't load off of the HD or Cf card. I have never made any changes to the PGM at all. So I delete it and load it from Internal memory and it loads fine...Whats going on here any insight.
