digital/scsi for s950

so i bought another s950, a wicked deal

and on the way home i saw on the back of it, it had the digital input and scsi! whoo whoot...

i wont be in the studio till friday, but i wanna know, can i hook up a zip drive to the RS port ? or does it have to be an old school scsi hard drive to the big SCSI port ?

the guy said it was in perfect condition, super clean

so i get there and it is far from perfect..
was covered in yellow ciggarette smoke tinge and dirt
so i was a bit dissapointed, but finding out it had the digital and scsi made up for it right away..

and the box cleaned up pretty well with a rag and some windex

I was just wandering, cause i saw a great deal on a s950.
How would you control a s950 without an mpc?? and how would it work to hook up a sp 303 to it..

nice deal though... saw one near my house for like under 50£

any midi controller, keyboard, computer etc.

sp303 to it wouldn't work, the 303 doesn't have midi out...and it would be a pain anyway the 303's sequencer is booty

and no young chief, the 950 has no sequencer in it

the SP303 does

the 60 does

the 3000 does

the SP505 does

the S900 doesn't

Somebody should do a sample comparison with the digi vs analog. It seems like this was discussed before but I can't remember if anybody actually did it.

ive been curious because ive heard alot here in the past about the importance of the analog to digital conversion playing a part in the 'fatness'
when it might be the digital to analog ?


and by the way, i have a s900 and an s950 for sale on the cheap.

just with no digital in holla!.
