since the price drop, you cant find the mpd16s in stock anywhere. everybody sold out. a few people on ebay are trying to sell em from 150-200 bucks.

i think this MPD24 unit will go for $279.99.

american musical will have them in the first full week of april. if you place the order with them now, they will not bill you until it ships.

You can't have a usb cable longer than max 5 meters, or else your signal will be ****.

How much is this gonna cost? More or less than the Trigger finger? (<-- 200 $)

I realize that this is more of a controller but will this have its own software too?
How else would you assign samples to the pads and diff banks?
Excuse my ignorance if the question is dumb, but when it comes to DAW type issues, I don't know much more than fuking with Audition or Reason (and i don't even know how to use Reason to the fullest).

Thanks.

My friend is at the Germany show. He said $299 list price, $199 street. MPC2500 pads. Shipping May or June. He says size is about the same as a Trigger Finger but heavier. I'll see if he can take a photo and email it.

the usb cable length is simply not true.

all you need is a simple usb repeater cable. With repeaters, i have gone over 100 feet without signal degradation.

the repeaters are bus powered, and @ 18 feet long each.

I'm pretty sure on akai websites it said it would come with editor software so you could pick what midi note each pad would transmit. Then in your sampler software like Reasons NNXT you would load samples onto the correct midi note/mapped pad. ?I think?
