!st time trying to chop up a sample, and its saying I don't

have enough memory. Does it mean RAM? I just have the stock ram. The funny thing is that I have no other samples loaded on my MPC they are all on my disk. So I should have more than enough memory, right? Could someone help here.

I'm new to the mpc world too but i have had the same problem. Your sample is just too long. There may be other ways but i'd just buy more ram. I got some at frys for $40 and should never have to deal with that ever again.

yeah that 10sec sample time is bullsh!t. Buy ram. If you don't want to install it, the guy at the music store might.

What MPC do you have?
If it's a newer one ,you can find ram easy, if it's older you may have to look around.
Check Ebay, there are cats on there selling Ram for MPC's.
I had some extra ram for 2KXL, but sold it to a friend for $10.00 last year.

Thanks guys. I have the 1000 and I really dig it. I guess I'll buy some more ram. I'm also thinking of geting a hard drive.

16mb is quite a lot of RAM to start with really so what are you samplinng that is taking so much of it up?

First thing, when you turn on the MPC you should either turn off the autoload if you haven't already, or delete all the stock samples and sequences that you dont need

And if you can load up mono samples b/c stereo samples take up more RAM than mono samples. Truthfully I'd advise getting the RAM and the hard drive is cool too, but the RAM must come first.
