looking to also get a 2000xl

what annoys me is that Akai should have released an Updated version of the 2000xl with new features.

whats the point with the colour change only.

the 2000xl needs a reliable storage medium...and they should be fitted as standard.

they blow the chance each time...

even when the 2000xl came out...in 1999...the could have included a Zip 100 as standard...or even a cd rom.

but hey...that was then.

but what about now...

atleast sell them with a zip drive or include a USB feature like the new 1000.

it just pisses me off to see this...they are trying to squeez all the juices out of the 2000xl for whats its worth.

i mean it would just put any new time buyer off...i.e. shops sayig not much storage stuff for it...the main akai dealers not having any in stock...so where the fu*k you supose to buy the zips from.

its tuff in the UK...none of the music shops seem to promote the 2000xl.

its a shame really, akai balls up here.

If you got the cash you can cop a 2000xl studio....That comes fully blown!
Perhaps they dont want to eliminate the floppy option. Some users may not have a zip installed in their PC whatever and this could affect sales (I spose)

I spose its a bit like a car that doesn't come fitted with a sunroof as standard....If you wannit, come get it = More cash...Its a world of business.

I hear your argument tho, but it aint gonna change. They'v moved on...No need to endorse the 2kxl anymore in their eyes. The 1000 is like a 2kxl update/upgrade.

Im not sure I share your view about not promoting the 2kxl in the UK. To be fair, its old and things have advanced...Thus its all about the new shiiiii..Stores need to make money and the new things usually cost more. So thats whats on everybodys lips.

Right now, it seems to be al about the 1k coz its new....The 4k will eat it alive but ' its all about the 1k right now'



Zips/Drives etc I can find them pretty easy. Try computer stores...Computer fairs are a touch too.

Crazy thing is, ZIPs are going to be extinct soon i feel...i had to go into the darkest corner of the biggest electrics department store here to get a new Zip 100 disk for my 2kxl...
