Yeah, we used to play that game when I was in engineering school at University of Indiana. It's definately great practice, and really gives you a good sense of the sound and feel of the whole frequency spectrum. I would recommend starting out doing it on classical music, since typically an orchestra covers the frequency spectrum more densely than other types of music.

yo you went to indiana? didnt know that, i almost applied there. might try it for grad school, if necessary. i'm trying for the clive davis school of recorded music.

well, i don't know about fruity loops at all

but reason really isn't an editing software. you'll want something like pro tools, cubase, acid, nuendo, logic, cakewalk, etc etc

or if you just want to edit 1 sound and not multisequence, sound forge, cool edit, audacity...

yea i got acid , but i never use it , so i guess i'll start usin that , i also have both sound forge and cool edit too.
