sampling reason 3.0 synths to the 1k

He's got integrated sound on his pc. it may or may not sound like ass, depending on the manufacturer. will it sound professional? hardly. but it'll work if he's just looking to sample, as long as he's got the correct driver configuration.

Maybe u got me wrong i don't know. Lett me explain again. I choose a sound in reason, (reason is synced thru midiclock to the mpc1000), start playing with the mpc/keyboard and record it into the mpc (just the midi).
Then when i have the loop i want, i record it thru the digital in of the mpc. This way i can use my midicontroller to play with the filters, effects etc. Then i have the synthline inside my mpc, (with sweep effects etc.), i trim it if neccesary and put it in my sequence. I do this with the drums to.
Select the drums in reasons redrum, record the drums with the mpc thru midi, then when i like the sound of the drums i record em 1 by 1 into the mpc. (record and push the pads one by one). Change the tracks from "midi" to "drum" and the notes still there, so the drumloop is the stays the same. This way i can aplie effects to the drums while building the beat. For me it's the perfect solution since i don't have a external fx proccessor (yet im saving). I hope this makes sense to you, otherwise lett me know. peazls poast

the way we are advising to do what you are trying to accomplish is faster, it will sound better, you can save yourself some money on a soundcard (at least right now) and you might actually learn a little more about the gear/ software you already have. at some point, you're gonna have to learn how to do things in new ways or you'll just fall hopelessy behind as technology evolves- especially in a field like this. i understand you're used to doing it that way, but really man, trust us. give it a shot.

Listen to these guys... don't buy a soundcard... all u need is a USB cable. Use the EXPORT LOOP method, they are giving you good advice.

to use the export as loop function u need to create the synthline inside reason itself... i don't use my pc for sequensing, i use the mpc. There's no way in hell u can use export as loop when u don't use reason to seq. That's why i explained my method.

all i want to do is record straight to analog and trim it . i get more ideas when i do this too, so im kinda that way, i cant export my loops to the mpc takes too long and i forget wut im goin to make , you guys have been really good help aslo thanks alot.

ow shit! i take back what i said earlier. I found out that when i have a midiloop in my mpc wich controls a synth in reason, i can record the midi into reasons sequenser. U need to turn the midi sync off, then record the midiloop and export as loop... damn this is even better then the way i did it before. thanx for lettin me think!

How are you using Reason if you do not have a soundcard?

i hooked my midi controll keyboard to it and got the sound , my mpc and computer is completly seperated there not hook up together.

right but what we're saying is, if you are getting sound out of the computer, you must have a soundcard. you are saying you need to get one. and thus the humour arose.

ok i get now , but im goin to guitar center today and see wut i can do when im there im goin to show him exactly wut im doin , its sorta hard for me to explain in here cuz theres too much to explain wut im doin ,i tried to keep it simple cuz if i confuse you , i know i wont get much help from that.

Sure you can. I do it all the time. All I do is move my midi file from the MPC to reason.

like i said a few posts later... i found out a way to do it. But for me i think its best to record the midi from the mpc to reason. that way it takes less time. But everyone has it's own way of working.

I suppose. I don't use the MPC's USB. I just put the card into my card slot reader and the whole process only takes seconds. to each his own though.
