do you have any cables connected to your mophatt OUTPUTS? to hear sounds from the mophat, you need to connect it to a channel on your mixer.

you can hear from playing the mpc because its connected to the phatt via midi. the mo phatt is sending the instructions to the mpc what to play. and im sure you have the outs on your mpc connected...so you're hearing what's in the mpc, but you wont hear anything directly from the mo phatt..

am i making sense? i may be wrong  but do you have your mo phatt outputs connected to a mixer?

If you have local off set on the Phatt it might disable the audition and arps on the keyboard. Try switching setting Local ctrl to on.

I think the Local control function on the Phatt is called KNOBS/RIFF MIDI OUT:

From the Manual: Under the Master Menu:

This function allows you to select whether or not MIDI controller data is
transmitted when you turn the front panel Controller knobs. The knobs
transmit on the controller numbers defined by the Real-time Controller
Assign parameter (see page 75). This function also enables or disables transmission
of Riff note data over MIDI when the Audition button is pressed.
If Deep Edit is enabled, “Knobs MIDI Out” does not work while in any of
the editing menus (Master, Edit, Save/Copy).

How to hook up MPC 2000xl and Mo Phatt & Oxygen 49 midikeyboard? I would like to play Mo Phatt with midikeyboard and sequnce in 2KXL. Now I have hooked the shit up, but when hitting keys it plays also samples from MPC which have same notes than Mo Phatt.

on the main screen, the track you want to sequence the mo-phat, go down to the bottom and change the 'DRUM' assignment to MIDI and then choose the correct channel to the right of that.

Bumping this old thread rather than making a new one.
I have my Planet Phatt in a chain of MIDI modules MIDI in->MIDI thru->In->thru etc. I want to keep ch01 and ch02 on the Planet phatt silent (v=00) and only have Ch03 making sound v=127. The problem is when I create a new MIDI track on the MPC and scroll through channels 1, 2 to set the track to channel 3 the MPC causes the Planet phatt to change the velocity of channel 1, 2 back to 127. Does anyone know how I can make the volume of all the tracks stay at 0?

I used to have an e-mu pk6 with the mo phat rom, long since departed. If you are only using channel 3 on the mo phat, can't you set it to the normal program mode on this midi channel. Meaning not in multi timbal /performance mode? So it can/will only respond to incoming midi on channel 3?
