Post your views and questions about the Akai MPC2500

OK i Have a problem my mpc 2500 has just arrived dont know much about it at the mo but wow i hope it works as good as it looks anyway just orderd a turntable technics 1210 mk2 and obviously i bought it to record samples into mpc i got two problems how do i connect the turntable to my mpc as the turntable is phono and mpc is l ine in jack and how am i going to get sound to the turntable i can do it my connecting it to my mixer but again phono one end line in jack the other. I am a total newbie as you can all tell just bought them for the love of music so if anyone can please help me speed up my learning process thanks.

But won't the mixer have pre-amps anyway? so the output of the TT goes into the mixer in, then mixer out to MPC in?

I'm not too sure how it all works, using the digital input myself

it would help to have a turntable pre amp but you dont actually need one. Just take the two outputs of your DJ mixer and plug them in to your MPC. all you need is two converters you plug in the end of your phono leads so that it fits into your MPC record ins. Like this:

Yeah i wouldn't advise using adapters. Phono to Jack cables aren't expensive, these are good enough in my opinion.

Your best bet is>>>> From the Technics into a mixer... mixer outs to the input of your 2500. :wink:

i would go with what taxman said....i have the same set up in my studio....sounds perfect....
