they have rare, mint machines and have been around for a minute

just because it's high prices and its assumed it's a business does not mean you wont' get scammed.

that guy started off selling really chepa. actually i believe i bought off him (he has about 15 different ebay names) and it was advertised in excellent condition, it was an SH5, the pictured sh5 was not the same one i recieved. mine was rusty. and in bad shape... i was really dissapointed, mind the fact it took about 2 months to get it shipped to me... by that time i didn't even want the synth...

true. they do look like they have some mint gear nearly brand new. which i can see why they would have those prices. it's like those car dealers who only sell fully refurbished mustangs for mad $$$.

i recently found a mint 3000 in box on ebay by seller wavedrum2005 who has zero feedback (item #7399882962). it says they are from japan but the mpc is in los angeles. i emailed them to see what their deal was and they are from japan (just like analogjapan) but the mpc is with their partner in studio city ca.
they also have about the same amount of 3000 le's that analogjapan has on their site.

if you look at analogjapan's "we buy" page they have a partner in studio city who will buy used gear. seeing this i asked the seller wavedrum2005 if they were affiliated with analogjapan. the funny thing is that they said they were not affiliated.

coincidence? hearing all the bad stories about 3000 sellers. i'm just being cautious before even thinking of dropping that much loot.

of course ideally is buying locally for that kinda purchase..
thats what i did, so u know what u get, cause u see the product b4 the purchase...

the most ive paid for anything i havnt seen first is an ipod, which i DID get scammed for, 350 down the drain...

now all i buy off ebay is records... any big purchase, i know i wanna see what im gettin before it ends up at my door, if it even does, right ?

it seems that paypal/ebay are getting safer though. i got scammed on some monitors (like $400). but i found out about paypals policy and was fully refunded. i've been mostly buying records too, luckily they have all been as descibed. no scratches or anything unexpected.

international though your money's good as gone, you have to really do the same country to have any protection.

also u must remember that shipping from japan is *COSTLY*:X

By TBC Fri Mar 31, 2006 12:16 am
OH! i didn't know that int'l was not protected. thanks for the tip. yeah shipping from JP is mad $$$$$. seems like they only use EMS for everything.

i see both sides of 1.) possibly getting the cleanest mint near brand new gear or 2.) as 3001 said getting something other than what's pictured.

based on no first hand reviews from analogjapan purchases and not paypal protection for jp. i would stick to ebay, hoping for that one honest seller. if they still exist. haha

My advice---dont ever sell anything to a Jew in NY. Or a Jew in general.

fukkouttahere, that's not cool at all homie. think before you post...don't be ignorant

I was referring to him specifically (3001=Lunenberg=Jew). He is a Jew, and since when is "Jew" an insult, especially to someone who is a Jew? I didnt call him anything derogatory, so relax.

This is about the eighth time you stuck your nose in my business, D. If you mattered, I would almost care.

Did somebody say Candyman 3 times :D

If you pay with your credit card, you should be protected no matter where you purchase from. I would check with your card company.

Analog Japan rarely ever return phone calls and email messages. They have been on eBay under numerous names. How legit they are is anyone's guess. However, their prices are crazy. They over charge you hundreds to a thousand dollars. They buy used gear, clean them up, and resell them for twice as much. You can do basically the same thing (I have  ). eBay is a good start to find some gear. Send your used gear to VST Service or Forat for repair/enhancement..and you should be straight....

thanks for the tip jahrome. i think i've seen some of your auctions before.

i can say from experience that VST has a great service. a little far from me in LA and not open on weekends, but they cleaned up my 60II right after purchase from ebay. i saw at least 3 other mpc's waiting to be picked up when i was there. their website says it all.

i use advanced musical in LA. they have great service as well and they are open on saturday (big +). haven't had to take my 60II there but they cleaned up my sp1200 REAL GOOD!

Jah is right they are selling the mpcs for twice what they cost on the local market making out like a fat rat.

Shipping would most likely be at 100 dollars the most by packaging and surface frieght. More by Air or Next Day with 200 range.

It's not calling him a Jew that is insulting, it is saying "Don't buy anything from Jews" (infering that the whole race is bad to deal with). It's downright racist to say this, and if you can't see that you are either playing stupid or...

Business is business, I can do business with whom I choose to do business with or not.

Jews are notorious ruthless businessmen that drive a hard bargain. Perhaps thats why they run most of Hollywood, and TV, and a lot of other industries.

They drive a hard bargain. I would rather not deal with them. that is not racism, sir. Look up the definition of racism.
