Sample from a CD?

Hey. So I've been reading a lot and trying to learn as much as possbile before getting a MPC and starting to make beats. So I've gotten to the point where I feel comfortable and I'am thinking about getting a MPC 1000(black) real soon. But I was just wondering if it was possible to sample sounds from a CD? Like would there be a way to connect a CD player up to an MPC to sample? I know it might sound dumb but it'll help me out if you can clear it up for me. Thanks in advance.

You can sample anything that has audio outputs. You just need the right cable.
