Which rack version compares to the MPC 3000 ?

which rack version compares to the sound of the MPC 3000 ? (s3000,s3000xl,s5000,s6000 )

the mpc3k's sampler is the s3000... the mpc60 the s900 or 950 forget which( the 950's stereo right? so it shouldn't be that one?), the mpc2k and 2kxl are s2000, i think the 4k is the Z4 or the z6 or the z8 one of them?

S950 is 12 bit mono.

huh, and i thought the s2000 was supposed to be the same as the 3000 but with a cheaper interface and less built in options...

I don't think all these machines sound the same. On top of that, the UI determines a lot about how you work with the sound you get.

For some, more creative people perhaps, achieving a particular sound isn't paramount anyway.

yea built cheaper, i.e. cheaper a/d and d/a converters...

The S2000 has the same converters as the S3000XL
same circuitry and components
only thing is that they devided the output board
