Also...the digital in isnt functioning the way it is supposed to! This selecting input thru and digital input, the pitch of the recorded sample jump ul like 3 levels until it is turned back to analog input.

Also, when disconnecting the USB from the computer after tranfering data, all the sound shuts off in the MPC until ur reset ur MPC...

love my mpc, but for a product as overpriced as it is, youd kinda expect a working os or maybe only a few tiny bugs. even most free audio programs have less bugs, and they usually have many more seperate features and have to cope with a wide varietie of computer hardware. something tells me that akai pro isnt the most well run company out there.

anyway, where can i find the serial number on my mpc?

Here's a newsflash for ya bro....akai is NOT as big as you may think it is. Don't let the website & spiffy ads fool ya.

Serial is on the bottom.

I seem to suffer from this quite alot, but you don't need to reset your MPC, just go back to LOAD or SAVE screens and maybe move selected folder, then go back to main, and the sound re-appears.

hold up...I am planning to cop the new 2500 in the next month (tax returns :) and this post is seriously SCARING me. one of the biggest frustrations ever is losing fresh material...from one mpc user to another..should i wait until perhaps they fix these bugs? or are only some mpc 2500 users experiencing this.

or sht..should i just cop one of the dozens of mpc2000's that are floating around for next to nothing (like $400-$500). the features are nice..but sht...beats are beats, i want reliability.

your opinions please....how good is this machine really?

its bena - the 2500 is a good machine. Like most new gear it has its bugs, which I'm sure will get ironed out in future updates. The bugs range from 'mildly annoying but harmless' to 'potential data loss', although with a bit of care, and carefull backing-up, its not a problem. It doesn't stop me making tunes anyway :)

So, has anyone actually had a reply from akai yet ?

The 25k is an amazing machine and once akai fixes the bugs this box is gonna go down in histroy! I just think it needs the auto-chomatic function plus you should beable to change your sampling rate as well! just like the 2000. 8-bit crunch on all drums and nice lo-fi loops plus it would double your sampling time again! If it had these features i would be in sampling heaven!

P.S Hows the progress with Akai?
