if your looking for more of synth sounds id say reason, since once you learn how to twerk it right the possibilities are almost endless with synthesis when used with the combinator...

but if you work with acoustic type instruments very frequently, i'd opt for the motif es, they are much better than anything ive heard in reason so far and have a very realistic touch to them

nah what he meant was if there were a module in reason for the motif or triton....

the answer is no but if you buy those motif cd's or the triton cd's you can map out those sounds in the NN-XT and the ReDrum and save them as patches. if you have reason 3.0 or higher, you can really take advantage of the Combinator and build elaborate synths or whatever using those sounds.

if you want more assistance with reason, let me know.

I seen your video. So what would recommend Sparq. The Reason is Cheaper so I thought it was not as good as a Motif Rack. Is that the case.

Dominique, the Motif is a very powerful workstation, which in my opnion is better than all the other hardware workstations (Roland, Korg, etc.)... but look through the link I posted, so that you can see the capabilities of Reason as a replacement for hardware. After checking all that out, you may find that Reason could be more suitable for you. I would highly recommend it over a Trtiton, Fantom and the Motif. But let it be known that if you choose hardware instead, the Motif is king.

no offense but that is the most false statement that i've ever heard. IMO reason is extremely better than the motif and/or triton/fantom... you can tweek every single paremeter in reason, layer/stack sounds.

you would be suprised to know how many songs on the radio has some (if not all) of reason. besides, you can put any wav file in reason and play it out.

lets say you want to buy a motif ES8 (88 keys) $2500. it only comes with so many sounds.

now you look at reason $450 with so many sounds.

now you want to add more sounds to the motif (i'm not talking about sampling into it) you have 3 slots to do this with and each sound card for the motif costs about $250. so you go and max it out by spending $750. you now just spent $3250 for a keyboard that you can not add anything else to. now take that same $3250... spend $450 on reason. that leaves you with $2800, take $1800, and buy a kick ass computer (if you don't have one) if you do, then hold on to that $2800. now reason already comes with around 2gb worth of sounds. but for whatever reason (no pun intended) you want more sounds. out of the $2800 you have left, take $500 of that and buy more sounds (refills) which cost around $50 each DVD see here <<<click or this <<<click. your only limitation to how many sounds you can use or have on your computer is the computer's limitation. so say you buy 10 DVDs, you will already have more sounds than the triton/motif/fantom combined. plus like i said, you can tweek every parameter and save as a new patch, now you have mo sounds, mo sounds, mo sounds.... and you only spent $2750 and have an extra $500 to invest in a program like cubase SX3 or the Mbox2

this is only my opinion but the numbers are fact.

i'm not knocking the motif/triton/fantom..... i'm just saying....

DOM, to answer your question, i would get reason. but i also have a motif es8.

sparq is right. you would seriously get more bang for the buck. that's exactly why i have reason as opposesd to hardware workstation keyboards.

this is somewhat off topic, but teckno.... that was reason's Grand Piano. in fact, all the sounds were reason except for the drums. the drums were programmed in the mpc and all other sounds were using reason as a sound mod sequenced on the mpc.

cool, sparq. it's good to know that you still get the most out of reason. i love the grand piano in that track. that melody is very catchy. 8)

I've got Motif, Fantom, Triton, & Mo'Phatt sound libraries +6GB of refills. Don't have a board anymore, just use reason and midi controller. I use NN-xt and NN-19 to open up the wav files and add them to the sequence. Like they said, Reason is more upgradeable than any keyboard you can think of. Any sound you can record and convert to a wave can be used in reason.

Where are you getting the Motif, Fantom, Triton, and MPhatt sound libraries from?

If I were you I would get both. Start out with reason, then later on down the line when you've mastered reason and have enough for your favorite hardware synth, buy it also. I have reason and I'm about to buy a motif.
