Basically my sample im usin for my verses needs a boost, what kind of effect can i use, i use to werk on FL and i would just use a 7 band eq and muck around with it a bit but the FX are alot more complicated on the mpc. some advice would hell nice and itd help me finish this beat

normalize it or rerecord it louder...?

Nawww ive got the main volume at the max and all the mixer levels are maxed, but i jus wana know how to boost the original sample in the mpc. I could always use cool edit and put some smplitude on it but i thought the mpc would have a better way of doing this...

The guy said "Normalise or Record it louder" not turn the volume up!!, dumb idoit!

The key is really to start your tune with enough headroom to allow you to adjust levels correctly for everything. I'd recommend making all your programs with pad levels at about 60, that way you can easily boost stuff later when needed.

For a quick fix you could always assign the same sample to the same pad again (but on a different layer).

try to add some compression, but this will change the dynamic of the sample.
Just try these values: radio 4:1 (or maybe even up to 8:1), attack 20ms, release 200ms, thred -15db, and then play with the gain...

use the MPCn008, it plays it's drum sample at full volume, no matter how hard you hit the pad:
