F#ck I had to reformat my cfcard and I also runnin the new v1.03 os for the 1k.

How do you reset the MPC so it goes back to the first OS?
PS: I also think the cause for the problem is the new OS 1.02

hold your button where you turn it on and off and hold erase button at the same time , this should reset it back to its factory preset.

3. Go back to the main save screen and "refresh" the disk by changing the SAVE TO field off of where you want to save and then back to where you want to save. Personally, if I skip this step, then it when i try to recreate the directory, I will get an error and sometimes MPC lockup. It appears that by "refeshing" like this, it straightens out the directory problems.
