How long should HD transfer take??

How long should trasferring 15gb of sounds to a 40gb gas HD take. I just started transferring some bass sounds and the transfer rate is slllooooowwww!!! Anyway, please tell me what I can do to speed this up. Thanks,

since the mpc only has an usb 1.1 speed, it should take roundabout four hours to transfer 15gb of data.

You might just want to leave it to copy when you go to bed, that's what i plan to do!
