floppy vs SCSI load times (MPC60, max memory)?

how long does it take you to load a full floppy compared to ZIP? i've yet to upgrade to SCSI and a floppy takes about about 5 mins. or more.

during that time, i'm sittin' there with the loop all queued up waiting to sample some ill sh!t and gettin' all impatient. is the SCSI that much faster?

My card reader loads A LOT faster than floppy. It is definately worth it to get some SCSI thing. Zip, HD, whatever.

yea floppy drives on the mpc60 are a real pain in the ass =( it makes me hate mine. I love the unit to death besides for the load time..

yeah, you're one of the 'few' with the working card readers, huh? that must be nice.

so as long as you can save to a flash memory card on your PC, you can use MPC editor to transfer snds to the 60/3000 via an SCSI card reader? that's real slick.

decisions, decisions. either i save money and wait to find an upgraded 60 mk1 or i upgrade to SCSI on my mk2 and try to find a working card reader.

put MK1 fully upgraded on your credit card find a cheap deal on ebay, just wait. and then once you get that, Sell your mkII for more than u paid for your MK1:-D

this is the thing that kills the 60's ease of use:

"converting and loading an MPC 3000 Program Exported from the MPC editor took 10 minutes. The program had 64 samples and 1.7 seconds of sample time left."

that's what my load times are like (5-10 mins per disk). the creativity flow def. suffers from these long load times. rediculous! why does the SCSI upgrade have to be $300? shouldn't the price go down after some time? this has been an option for how long, now? 5 years or longer?
