Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

I got a replacement NV slider via UPS today. It has 4 pins on one end on 2 on the other. Is that right? It looks like 2 pins might have broken off but I can't be sure. Anyone know for sure?

How hard is replacing one of these? Basic soldering? Advanced? Worth it to take to a repair shop?

thanks

the slider is fine... if you look at the bottom of the upper board you will se the same configuration. 2 pins on one side and 4 on the other-plus the 2 place holder pins in the middle. its basic soldering. its not hard at all. the hardest part is removing the old one without a solder sucker, but if you take a pair of pliers and melt the solder on most of the pins quickly it should come out after a couple of tries.

Thanks man.

When I get my new Card reader into my 2000XL and working , I'll try and fix the slider on my 2000Classic.
