Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

Ok heres the deal, i purchased the 8 outs for the 2000xl botu year and a half ago, only just tried to use the digi outs....(the 8 outs work a treat)
now i hear most peeps 8 outs have rca digi outs on em, but what i purchased (brand new..not modified) was from some neteherlands company, thomann netzmart or summit:-

MUTEC - ADO-02 (IB-M208P) interface board
(8*DA out - AES/EBU in/out)

now is AES/EBU t-dif digi? how the hell can i conect this to my 'digi in' on my pc? (which is rca or optical in)

any help would be greatly appreciated, as i;m starting to feel that this 8 outs i got are useless in the 'digital' area.

Same thing happened to me. I ordered the 8 output expansion card I got sent one that had the digital ins & outs on standard size jacks, not rca phono jacks. It wasn't made by Akai & it might be the same board you've got. Anyway, I told them it was not what I ordered & they sent me the correct Akai-made one.

It is a pity you've waited so long to find out you've got the something that isn't what you expected. I guess you cannot get the dealer to give you the right one now, especially as you've fitted it.

Has your card got the digital in & outs on standard jacks? What is weird is that I don't know of any common digital system that uses those. I think AES/E-BU usually uses 3 pin XLR jacks, like microphone ones.

I have the same board too , you just have to buy a ( good ) rca to jack mono cable and it works fine . by the way mutec is a good brand , don't be afraid , all old school samplers back in the day ( well in europe ) were upgraded with mutec .
