before I record?

whats up everyone? Just have a quick question. I just got my mixer and i have a fantom and mpc 1000 hooked up to it. Weither i decide to sequence in mpc or fantom my question is:
say i sequence in mpc and lay a drum track down and play something over it with fantom lets just say piano and save sequence. Will the piano be saved also when i load the sequence later in the mpc even with out the fantom on? If not could you give me some tips before I record something and loose it.

if i get you right you want the phantom to set itself up against the mpc with all the programs and settings when you load a song.
you can do this by enter a programchange to in the MPCtrack that controls the Phantom.

MIDI is not sound. When you sequence something in the MPC it is not saving the sound. If you want to play it back, you always need the keyboard on. That's where the sound comes from.

So i dont need to save what i am playing from the fantom to the fantom since its midi is getting saved to the mpc sequence? Or say I tweek an arp and get it sounding right over the mpc drums and record everything to say sequence 1 in the mpc. Do I need to save the arp in the fantom as song 1 and the drum track in the mpc as sequence 1 and when I go back to work on them some more, I have to load the song in the fantom as well as load the sequence in the mpc? Or as long as the midi data was recorded to the mpc, just power up the fantom and mpc, load the sequence in the mpc, and will I get the same playback from the fantom as when recorded?

I recommend u save in both if not u will have to select the sounds u used again. It will only save the actual notes you played not the sound u chose cause regardless what sound u have say u started with the piano and then changed it to a guitar it will still play the same melody. I owned a fantom and what i did was save on the fantom and on the mpc so i knew everything was good to go.
