I TOTALLY DISAGREE

if you listen to udnerground hip hop you will know of el-p.  the only keyboard/synth he used was an old as ensoniq eps16+ which was made back in the day and you can pick one up for around 5 bills.  im getting a ensoniq sq1 which is similar but has no sampler and only for a hunderd dollars.  these good OLD  machines carry good vintage sounds.

my friend uses a newer triton to make all his beats and ill have to tell you it sounds pretty stupid and soft as ####.  i just like the sound of the older machines.  just like i would rather sample some al green drums than some sublime drums.

thanx for the replies fellas, just got a quick question.  Are those 85mb already preloaded sounds or are they just available memory expansion for sampling.  Im gonna check it out next week, but i'm not sure if i need another sampler being that i already  have an MPC.  Thanx again fellas.

ok the motif has 612 sounds...3 preset banks and 1 user bank the sampler is 4mb but can be expanded to 64 mb...the 85mb wave rom is what they can do to asound...the more rom the better a sound can be thats why  a trion sounds thin compare to a motif...the triton has aobut 40 or something pcm wave rom. but play them both or all your ears wont lie to you

this might sound dumb or yall might already know of this program but to me it means alot...for the motif..on the motif web site its kind of like this one and theres been talk of a program that can break the sample code of one product so you can use in another...kind of like making akai samples work in a emu.. see this would be good for the motif cause then all them user programs on the korg triton could be saved on a smart media card and then added to the motif. but its not 100% done yet cause yamaha has not given the company that makes this software the codes to there samples .
