all you really need is an mpc and a midi interface to your computer to play reason. however you will find it much easier to record stuff using a keyboard.

i'm afraid i don't understand? i can play reason via my mpc or my radium, if that's what you're asking...maybe i'm dense but could you explain yourself a little further...give me a scenario of what you're trying to do.

i think he want's to trigger reason using his mpc, but he's unsure whether to get a midi keyboard or to just use the mpc's pads to play the notes. i'd recommend the keyboard, but each to their own.

yeah. personally i kinda like both but esp now that i'm finally learning music theory, the piano keys help a LOT. esp after i went and wrote all the notes on the keys in felt tip like a 5 year old...haha

if you are going to trigger drums from reason onto the mpc, then you can just use the pads but if you're going to trigger sounds like bass, synth, keys, etc... then use the midi keyboard. (that's what i do) actually, it's not even an either or kind of situation. you can still have the keyboard connected to the mpc even if you don't use it. what is being triggered on the pads can be triggered on the keyboard.
