Its gettin harder and harder to be a crate digger where I'm from for the last few years. A lot of dj/hiphop/vinyl places been goin out of bussiness. Rootz records in middletown (best store of all time)
tapeville in nanuet
metro dj in nanuet

I'm left with big chain music stores for equiptment now and thrift shops for vinyl. It sucks
-anyone else see this where they live.

it's all over not just where you live it's been like this for yrs, just do your part and stay away from chain stores is all. mom&pop and thrifts is where you shop at,
plus go out to the big city's you'll find more record stores there.

i don't hate thrift shops. thats where i go.
I'm just not too fond of old ladies lookin at me like a nutcase for buyin records. then they got questions bout it - how the **** do i explain beat making to an old lady. It was just better going into a record store where u could chill, check out some equiptment, and dig- and sometimes talk to respectable dj's and shit.

I'm just pissed cuz stores like that are goin quick. Even though i can get the same product from a thrift store- its just not the same.

edit- oh yeah- **** buyin records online!!!!!

If they ask tell them you take snippets out of songs and use them in yours. Drop some knowledge to granny.

why would you have to explain ? it's nune of there business.... i love it when the old ladies check me out with a stack of vinyl, i get to talkin to them and ask you guys have any more in the back i can look at, or you got any at home you want to sell or give me?

my answer is i collect music , which i do and i love all kinds, they dont knnow i make beats it's not like they going to rap over my music anyways or buy it . now you go to a record shop and tell some old cat that you lookin to get booted out.
you still got alot to learn man, just cause you dig for records no one has to know you make beats, many store owners dont like kids diggin threw there collections just to make beats ,plus all the records i buy are djing too, so i just tell them i play music.

just a little advice dont say to much to older folks who sell records just tell them you collect or you like music is all.
