There are Pros & Cons for each

I prefer internal....Its more convinient in a-way. Dont have to take it everywhere I take the MP. I dont have to plug it in, Its cheaper too.

Of course with external, u dont have to open up your MP and do a fiddly job of installing it. If it stops working, u dont risk losing your MP 4 any period of time while u get it replaced etc. You can just cop a new drive

As far as one lasting longer than the other...I doubt theres much in it.
There both the same drive made of the same components so they should last as long as each other (Unless u step on, or spill drink on your external)

Thats how I see it anyway

man get a media card drive, eff thous zip disks!

I got a external scsi PCMCIA drive, a compact flash adapter and 256mb compact flash for about maybe 60 bucks... I lost like 30 beats on two zips, when my usb drive that I used to save my files to my hard drive decieded to ruin my disks.... never again... :x

i gotta say that the external is less worries cause there are too many possible conflicts that can go down with the internal. goddam i had some stress earlier this year with the internal business,,,,,but then again you could just hook up a 5.6 gig external scsi hard drive
