MPC2kxl sampleing question....go ahead ans stone me now!

This may or may not seem like a stupid question but this is what i do i put the MP into sample mode, record 4 bars and assign it to a pad. tap the tempo to the orriginal tempo to try and get it as close as possible. hit record and tap the pad w/ the sample on it, once i get it recorded, i speen up the bpm's put the pitch does not change, it just loops faster(obvious cuz i sped up the BPM), but how do i get the actual sample to speed up???? Do i go onto params and chage the TUNE or what?

also once i get that down and i want to go find some drums, once i load my drums, it erases my sample of the pad i had assigned it to! I have read the manual, i must be over looking it if its in there

Use Time Stretch but drastic changes in tempo may have unwatned effects on sound. You might want to try chopping the sound as well.

Timestretch or increasing the tuning changes the sample!
As for the drums, after loading it make sure u have the pad assignment window set to OFF , then go into program & assign it to a pad thats not being used.

hey yall thats a similar dilemma to how sounds when being played with the note variation slider.. shorten or lengthen in duration. When notes high, its short, but when low its long. It's also quite difficult to sample a sound which is technically 4 bars long assigned to the note pad. You'd have to wait that many seconds to press the next pad in record mode.

chop your loops, youll bypas all the head aches of getting loops to fit, 2 bars + and it will always slip out,, its just gets a better feel when u retrigger the slices right on grid,.

^that video was nice.. thanks for not wasting our time by showing you chop the samples, haha.. creative chopping, by the way. that's what these newer cats need to learn... be able to chop shit up but still make it sound like a clean loop.

so once i sample and go tot the trim screen and "zone" into 16 zones, how can i assign all 16 zones to the 16 pads, im on the 2kxl

don't you know how to assign the 16 samples to pads..?

Pages 103 - 108 in the manual explain how to assign the different zones to pads.
