Problem to upgrade my mpc2000xl ver1.06 to 1.14 or 1.20!!

I've a problem to upgrade my akai MPC 2000XL version 1.06 into 1.14. When I put the 2hd with the os 1.14(download on the akaipro website) in my mpc, the machine doesn't recognize the file (message on the lcd screen is: "unknown type file")
I try to do it with different 2hd and the problem is always the same.

You have to download the file then unzip/extract the compressed file, Then you take the uncompressed file (which will be a .BIN file) and load that into the MPC.

Man, it's what I've already done, but my mpc doesn't recognize the file THAT'S THE PROBLEM HERE!!! I can't load the file in my mpc, when I try to do it, I see the "unknown file type" message.
It's a real problem, I can't install the mcd reader with the 1.06 os.

I make an upgrade test with the version 1.07, to do a step by step upgrade, but the problem is still the same. I test my floppy drive with a floppy in what I put a .wav file: The mpc can see that a file exist, but the name is written with strange characters and it can't load it too. So, I think the problem is from the floppy drive but I'm not sure. I'd tried to initialize the mpc(shift+other+init), but the problem is still here.

what version os is your 2kxl on?

can you upgrade to 1.14?

download the 1.14 (leave the 1.20 alone for now, trust me) unzip it and there should be a BIN file in the zip.

ONLY copy that BIN file to the floppy.

Load the BIN the same way you do load a sample.

Man, I do it (So many times.... ) and it doesn't work!

Where did you format your current floppy disk?

mpc or computer?

Did you try a new floppy? I don't know whether it makes a difference (never had a floppy in my MPC) but did you format the floppy b4 putting on the BIN file , and did you format it on the mpc or on your computer?

When I use to do updates I formatted my floppies in pc via fat.

Then copied only the BIN file to the floppy an loaded it like I would a sample. Actually I did the same thing with my old zip drive and also when I got my cf drive. I format all my disks/cf's on pc via fat.

I do the same thing, I format my floppies in pc via fat. I already use 5 news floppy disks, always the same problem.
