i got a guitar and i wanna make it sound real diffrent

don't really know what you mean by 'different', but if you have a wave editor you can 'reverse' the sample... that'll make it sound different... there's a bunch of things you can do, just try to get real creative with it i guess... you can also try applying filters too...

wave editor for reverse??? got it on the 1k.

try FX on your mpc, if u got a pc you'll find interesting plugins. you could process some sounds there.

Exactly. You can do anything to make it sound different. What "type" of different do you want. You got effects on an mpc, you have cheap software. You can make anything sound very different.

repitch the sample

stretch the sample

chop the sample

filter the sample

use the q-link sliders to get ill with tuning and filter in realtime

use mpc internal f/x

...
do combinations of those, resample, repeat...
ie stretch it then stretch it back then stretch it again


buy more external f/x processors

track your song into a computer and chain 20 vst effects onto it

..um, put your speakers in the bathtub play the sound thru that and resample thru a microphone... but dont use water in the tub ok!!! or if you do be careful... i heard you can put a mic in a condom and use it to record underwater..

Maybe you could ask M.ic P.ro C.rusher about this. I'm no "hip-hop" expert, but it seems to me that if you recorded a sound through a crushed mic, it might make it sound different.

Do you want it to sound a 'lil' different' or 'real different'

I know of 5 techniques that do 'lil different' but only 1 or 2 for 'real different'...you might be better asking someone else if you need 'real different'

You gotta take time to play with the effects and hear what they do to your samples, no one can tell you what difference it is you are looking for, you gotta experiment, dont' be scared, go for it.
