i read on futureproducers.com some dudes where talkn abt its a way to put a internal harddrive on ya 2k xl is this true?

"Yeah I read into this and found out there are a couple things you can do. You can install an old scsi laptop drive (usually not alot of storage). Or you can get an scsi to IDE converter and use an IDE laptop drive. That's the only way I'd be able to f*ck with an mpc is if it had alot of storage and the 4000 is just too big for me."

Would you be looking for an IDE to IDE converter? They are readily available in the form of an IDE cable.

I tried a 4Gb laptop harddrive in my 2KXL with an IDE bridge. I never got the damn thing to work properly. I'll stick with my card reader.

.....ummm yeah.... Well, I am actually trying to put a external drive together I have a an old 2GB hard drive from my old PC and I got a hard drive box for it currently it isnt working but I think I am not doing something correctly.

With an external or internal hard drive is the best cuz you dont have to mess with opening your MPC that stuff freaks me ou.t Every since I had to open my MPC60II the thought drives me loco, that was mad but I figured it out with help from dudes on here thanks alot guys!

i'd rather just rock an MCD than an internal hard drive, if we're talking about 2000xl here.. think about it. you only get 2 GB max with a hard drive on a 2000xl. if you get an MCD, you can get multiple 2GB cards, and you can put them in your computer and transfer files to and from your mpc.

That is NOT true, there's peeps here who rock 18Gb drives with their 2kxl, Personally I run an 4.5Gb harddisk on my MPC. I prefer using my internal CF reader though (it's just more quiet)

my bad, someone told me the most an mpc2kxl will recognize is 2gb, period. nonetheless, i love my MCD more than i would an external hard drive.
